Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school diploma required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in water or wastewater system management, treatment and/or distribution and collections.
• Possession of water and/or wastewater system operator certifications preferred. Degrees in related fields are also a plus.
• Well-rounded knowledge of public water or wastewater system needs and methodologies to meet those needs.
• Knowledge of water or wastewater system development, management, accounting, public finance principles, and state/federal regulatory requirements is also desired.
• Excellent computer skills including use of internet, email and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc).
• Ability to develop and deliver industry related presentations in the classroom setting and to the public.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possession of a valid State of North Carolina Driver’s License and reliable transportation (required).
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively within state and be away from home overnight.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a diverse team.

An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in water, wastewater, or both. This position will focus primarily towards providing on-site assistance but will also require a reasonable amount of public presentations, training seminar coordination and facilitation, and preparation of written materials and reports.
